In the market for a new Instant Pot? Here’s how to know what size Instant Pot you need.
Instant Pot Replacement Parts
Your Instant Pot comes with a lot of stuff including a sealing ring, trivet, ladle and more! If you need any replacements or extras, I’ve got you covered with my top picks. Plus, most of this stuff can easily be ordered on Amazon.

Instant Pot – If you’re looking for a new Instant Pot model, I’m a fan of the 6-quart DUO Plus. It can cook almost anything and can easily fit enough food for a family of four.

Instant Pot Sealing Rings – Over time, you might find your sealing ring worn out and needing a replacement. I find that a sealing ring can often absorb odours and flavours from your dishes, so I like switching them out if I’m making a sweet recipe versus a savory recipe. Having two different colours of rings makes this easy!

Steamer Rack Trivet – Some recipes call for using a trivet, so I like this steam rack option as it has handles to help you lift up pans and pots.

Non-Stick Rice Paddle – This rice paddle is great for stirring and mixing all types of rice, including sushi rice. You can use it for your rice cooker, too!

Ladle – I love making soups and stews in my Instant Pot, so a ladle’s pretty essential for serving them up!

Rice Measuring Cups – If you’ve misplaced the handy rice measuring cup that came with your Instant Pot, stock up on these replacements.

Condensation Collector – Did you know you should replace your condensation collector every 6 months or so because of bacteria? These replacements are easy to install and remove for cleaning.

Stainless Steel Inner Pot – I’ve heard of some people damaging their inner pots accidentally. You don’t have to get a brand new Instant Pot if that’s ever the case for you. Just grab a replacement pot instead.

Steam Release Value – If your steam release valve hasn’t been working properly, I’ve got you covered!
Alternative Lids and Pots
You can switch out the lids or pots of your Instant Pot to increase its functionality, whether you’re using it as an electric pressure cooker or a slow cooker. Try out these options!

Air Fryer Lid – Transform your Instant Pot into an air fryer by just swapping out the lid!

Tempered Glass Lid – If you’re using the slow cooking function, you may prefer using this glass lid instead of the standard one used for pressure cooking.

Silicone Lid – You don’t need to dirty extra containers when storing your leftovers. Just slap on this lid and put your pot in the fridge!

Ceramic Inner Pot – If you are planning on using your Instant Pot during the holidays, you may want a second inner pot. This pot has a ceramic non-stick coating which makes for easy cleanup.
Cooking and Baking Accessories
Whether you’re trying the pot-in-pot method or you’re making yummy desserts like cheesecake, these cooking and baking accessories definitely come in handy. These pans, baskets and molds will fit perfectly in your pressure cooker.

Stackable Stainless Steel Insert Pans – If you want to try pot-in-pot cooking, these pans are perfect for cooking multiple things at once in the Instant Pot.

Springform Pan – This pan great for making cheesecake!

6×4 Round Cake Pan – I use this pan when making a breakfast casserole or meatloaf in the Instant Pot.

Springform Loaf Pan – Whether you’re making a dessert or you just want a different shape of meatloaf, this loaf pan fits nicely in the Instant Pot.

Silicone Steamer Basket – If you’re making steamed vegetables, you’re going to want to use this food-grade silicone steamer basket!

Egg Bite Molds – Move over, Starbucks! The Instant Pot is amazing for making egg bites thanks to this mold!

Yogurt Cups and Pressure Sterilization Rack – Use these Instant Pot-branded yogurt cups to make individual containers of yogurt. A sterilization rack is included so you can clean them easily.
Misc. Accessories
Here are the rest of my favourite products to use alongside my Instant Pot! They’re a game-changer when it comes to easy cooking and cleanup.

Pressure Cooking Times Cheat Sheet Magnet Set – These magnets are printed with the cook times for common grains, meats and vegetables. You can stick them on your Instant Pot so you can easily reference them any time you’re cooking.

Meat Thermometer – Make sure your meat is fully cooked by using an instant read meat thermometer.

Meat Masher – This tool is great to have if you’re making ground beef in the Instant Pot.

Mini Oven Gloves – I love using these mini mitts when releasing pressure or using the saute mode on my Instant Pot.

Cleaning Brush – This brush gets into every nook and crevice of your Instant Pot, making it easier to clean.

Steam Diverter – If yourself flinching when you go to release pressure, this steam diverter will makes the process less stressful and allows you to choose which direction the steam will come out.

Souper Cubes – If you’ve got any leftovers, you can freeze them in these cubes so it’s easier to grab a portion to thaw and reheat later.
Frequently Asked Questions
What accessories do you need for an Instant Pot?
When you purchase an Instant Pot, it will come with a stainless steel rack that can be used to steam veggies or as a trivet in the inner pot. It’s really the only accessory you need since there’s so many Instant Pot recipes you can make with the pressure cooker and trivet alone, but if you’re looking for extra accessories, you can get an air fryer lid to transform it into an air fryer, a tempered glass lid for slow cooking and egg bite molds for easy breakfasts.
What material is safest in the Instant Pot?
Good quality stainless steel is the safest to use in the Instant Pot, since it’s designed to withstand high temperatures. You can also use silicone, just make sure it’s durable and designed for the pressure cooker or it might melt.
Where is the best place to buy accessories?
You can buy pretty much any Instant Pot accessories you need on Amazon! I’ve included links to some of my favourite options in this post. You can also often find accessories at Walmart, Costco, Canadian Tire, Target, and other home good stores.
Is it safe to use parchment paper or aluminum foil?
You can safely use parchment paper in the Instant Pot, for example if you’re lining a pan to make cheesecake. Aluminum foil can be used to cover the pot or to cover a springform pan, like if you’re making this peach cobbler.
