Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 lbs raw chicken wings
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp onion or garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 2/3 cup buffalo wing sauce
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 2 tbsp BBQ sauce
  • Carrots & celery sticks to serve
  • Ranch and/or blue cheese dressing to serve

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, toss wings with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper.
  • Add trivet and water to Instant Pot, then add seasoned chicken wings to trivet. Place lid on Instant Pot and make sure valve is set to seal.
  • Press the pressure cook button and set to high, then cook for 8 minutes. Instant Pot will take about 10-15 minutes to come to pressure then pressure cook the 5 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, set oven to broil on high and mix together wing sauce. Do a quick release of the pressure on the Instant Pot by flicking the switch at the top with a spoon. Open the lid when pressure gauge has dropped and the lid opens easily.
  • Remove wings from Instant Pot and toss in sauce in a large bowl. Add wings to a baking sheet lined with foil and topped with a baking rack. Broil for 4-5 minutes per side to crisp wings up. Serve with veggies and dip and enjoy!

Notes

Make sure you use a wire rack when broiling the wings to ensure they don’t stick to the baking sheet.
Broil the wings after the sauce has been added so that the sauce gets nice and hot on your crispy wings.
If you want extra crispy wings, leave under the broiler for twice the amount of time suggested, but watch them to make sure they don’t burn.
Store any leftovers in the fridge for 3-4 days. Broil in the oven or reheat for 10-15 minutes at 375° F.
Freeze the wings for up to 3 months then cook or reheat from frozen.
